Within the framework of the S3 Interregional Partnership Pilot Action “Virtual and Smart Cultural Tourism” (VSCT) one of the partners, UNESCO Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) organises a workshop to present and discuss project ideas on the topic of virtual cultural tourism.
After introduction and welcoming words by the host, Dr. Marinos Ioannides (CUT), and Cyprus’ Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Yiannis Karousos, the event starts off with project presentations such as:
- Ms. Maria Stylianou-Michaelidou (Limassol Tourism Board) on “Digitization in Special Interest Tourism – The Limassol case”
- Dr. Marinos Ioannides (CUT) on “Digital Cultural Tourism”
- Dr. Antonis Theocharous (CUT) “Offering and enhancement of authentic tourism experiences through digitalisation of the cultural and natural tourism capital: The MITOS platform”
- Dr. Chrystalleni Lazarou (Cyprus Food Museum) “Virtual Cultural Tourism: The case of Cypriot Gastrotourism”
Followed by an open discussion and elaboration of business cases and servicing needs supported by the team of the S3 Pilot Action.
