Heritage Science Austria is a platform aiming to improve the documentation, understanding and preservation of Austria’s cultural and natural heritage by engaging and networking the Austrian research community from the fields of natural sciences, technology and humanities.
The main goals are:
- Bundling of resources and infrastructure through the exchange of museums, galleries, archives, collections, universities, research institutes, small and medium-sized enterprises and independent professionals
- Establishment and sustainable safeguarding of expert knowledge and efficient knowledge transfer
- Austria’s participation in international research programmes and E-RIHS European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science
The platform organises expert round tables on a more or less regular basis, called “Heritage Science Café” – informal get-togethers and matchmaking events aiming to introduce, link and engage scientists with different expertise and research areas and foster collaboration and possible common project ideas.
The June edition of the Heritage Science Café will be held on 22. June, starting at
15:00-16:00 with presentations (in webinar format) and
16:00-open end discussions & networking
There will be three speakers, presenting their facilities/projects:
- Dipl.-Ing. Johannes Göllner, MSc – Zentrum für Risiko- und Krisenmanagement (Center of Risk & Crises Management)
- Dr. Chiara Zuanni – Institut Zentrum für Informationsmodellierung – Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities, Universität Graz
- Dipl.-Ing. Simon Brenner – Computer Vision Lab, Institute of Visual Computing & Human-Centered Technology, TU Wien
After the presentations there is time for discussion and ‘matchmaking’ – if you have an idea for a project, if you are searching for collaborators/ infrastructure/ topics that would be a great opportunity for networking! (for example the FWF call Clusters of Excellence (COE))
