Enhance your knowledge

Introducing: Europeana Academy – online training to boost your skills

Thinking of expanding your digital skills, gain new knowledge and get creative? Our partner Europeana recently launched its online training environment, offering both self-paced and instructor-led courses encouraging professionals in the sector to deepen their knowledge on different topics related to Europeana.

Background

Finding ways to support and foster digital and creative skills among cultural heritage professionals has been on the agenda of the Europeana Initiative for quite a while. In 2024 a pilot programme was launched (exclusively for the Europeana Network Association members) to test the envisioned training environment which was now publicly launched at the beginning of September.

Europeana Academy is a training programme for professionals working with, in and around cultural heritage. It aims to provide participants with a comprehensive and enriching learning experience, and to support professionals to develop new skills and knowledge.

The Academy combines two aspects. The first is a digital training platform through which you can follow online, self-paced training on topics from copyright in cultural heritage collections, to using Europeana’s APIs, to IIIF, to data statistics and aggregation. The second is live, instructor-led training sessions which offer you the chance to follow these courses in real time with the support of an expert instructor.

Europeana Academy allows you to learn new skills in a format and at a pace that suits you. The courses and training have been developed by experts and shaped specifically for cultural heritage professionals, aiming to foster and build capacity across our sector.
