The Gouda Time Machine examines the buildings of the historic city center of Gouda, digitally records them and displays them beautifully.
Gouda has a rich history and remained virtually the same in terms of size within the current canals until well into the nineteenth century. The regional archive manages various sources about the ownership and construction history of the plots and buildings in the city. In addition, there are sources that inform us about the residents of the houses, there are maps, construction drawings and photos. All those different sources tell a story about a location in the city.
The Gouda Time Machine project aims to fully reconstruct the development of the city from the enormous amount of information. All information about buildings, roads, water, businesses and habitation must be mapped.
