Sportgeschiedenis was conceived and developed as an online magazine by Micha Peters – (Sports) historian, journalist and (final) editor. The online magazine is a platform for sports history in image, sound and text.
Sportgeschiedenis is also a sports history research bureau run by Micha Peters and Jurryt van de Vooren – Specialist in sports history, contributing to the book “Never More Qatar” about FIFA and human rights, to be published at the end of May 2022.
Peters and Van de Vooren combine sport and history, by connecting past and present and by continuously looking for parallels in time; compare contemporary sporting events with similar events in the past. The focus is on background stories and anecdotes that are unknown to most.
