Juha Henriksson

 

Juha Henriksson is Doctor of Philosophy in Musicology and Master of Science in Computer Software Engineering. He has worked as the Director of the Music Archive Finland since 1997 and also taught popular music and jazz at the Helsinki University since 1995. He was appointed as Associate Professor in Ethnomusicology in 2006.

Juha is an expert on audio digitization. He has held numerous trust positions in the field of Finnish cultural heritage during the years, the topics ranging from legal and administrative matters to technical details such as architecture descriptions. He is also Editor in Chief of the “Faili” magazine, the only professional journal of document and data management and archiving in Finland.

Juha is also widely involved in Europeana. He belongs to the Europeana Network Association (ENA) Management Board that represents the ENA in strategic discussions within the Europeana Initiative. He is a member of many Europeana groups such as Impact, Copyright and EuropeanaTech Communities’ Steering Groups, as well as the Data Governance Stakeholder Group related to the European data space for cultural heritage.
