Unlocking EU Opportunities for Cultural Heritage Digitalization

(Digitisation of) cultural heritage: What opportunities are there for Thuringia to participation in EU programmes and initiatives?

We are excited to announce an upcoming event focused on the digitalization of cultural heritage and the opportunities for Thuringia to engage in EU programs and initiatives. Taking place on April 1, 2025, from 10:00 to 12:30 at the European Information Center Erfurt (Anger 39, Erfurt), this event is a must-attend for researchers, cultural institutions, and innovators looking to navigate the EU funding landscape.

A key highlight will be the contribution of our esteemed partner and TMO Secretary, Sander Münster, who will present three pioneering projects in which we are currently involved. His insights will shed light on cutting-edge developments in digital heritage tools, interregional cooperation, and research funding under Horizon Europe.

Organized by the Thuringian Representation in Brussels (TLVEU) in collaboration with the European Information Center (EIZ) Erfurt, Friedrich Schiller University Jena (FSU Jena), and the Time Machine Organization (TMO), this event will serve as a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and strategic planning. With the next Horizon Europe Cluster 2 “Culture, Creativity, and Inclusive Society” call expected in May 2025, this is a prime opportunity to prepare and connect with potential partners. Three of our international cooperations are going to be presented at the event.

The agenda will feature:
🔹 Insights into Horizon Europe funding opportunities
🔹 The new European Partnership on Resilient Cultural Heritage
🔹 Presentations on Thuringia’s digital humanities projects, including 3D heritage data, XR technologies, and cultural tourism innovations
